ThyssenKrupp: the business remains difficult and earnings is depressed this year

ThyssenKrupp is still not optimistic about the outlook for earnings in this year, in the company's annual meeting hold in last Friday ,the CEO Heinrich Hiesinger said, at present, the financial year of the global economy will not be fully restored, theEuropean debt crisis still cann’t be solved very well , the growth momentum of the emerging economies slows down , the auto industry is faced with decline and the steel industry is still forward difficult.


He expects the five business units sales of ThyssenKrupp will be flat with the sales in 2011-12 about 40 billion euros, but profit will fell from 1.4 billion euros of the previous year to 1 billion euros .


To response to the challenges of the decline in demand and steel prices falling , the company's European steel mills continue to adjust production by shortening working hours, but he reiterated that they aren’t intended to sale the European steel mills, on the contrary, they will strive to strengthen the position of the European steel business in the Group. Unlike the American steel business, the European steel business accounting for total Group revenue 30% will move toward a successful future.
