January to May in 2012 year, China's total steel exports reached to 22.04 million tons, an increase of 10.1% comparing with the same period of last year.

 

    For the past two years,steel bars and wire rods have been exported rapidly and steel plate exported weakly.Since Chinese government reduce and even cancel export tax rebates for Common hot rolled steel plate,MS plate and other varieties steel,and then the export colume dropped significantly.Steel plate exports percentage is down by 54% in 2011 year,and then down again by 50% in 2012 year.

 

    The other hand, exports of steel wire rods and bars and angles have sprung up within these two years.The increase is up by 30-40% in 2011 and 2012 year. The first four months of this year,these two major categories exports are accounted for 25 percent in total steel exports,and this value is just 16 percent in 2010 year. Accordance with the average estimate for the first four months of the annual export ,steel bars and wire rods and angle profiles still have 12 million tons export space, an increase of about 3 million tons comparing with 2011 year, an increase of about 5 million tons comparing with 2010 year. Although the international market is in the shadow of the global economic slowdown, but the prospects of exports of these two types of products still have an advantage compared with other varieties.
