Following Japan's Nippon Steel Sumikin claimed to build the automotive sheet joint venture in Indonesia in the end of last year, the automobile steel plate processing center of Korea's Pohang Iron and Steel Company is already started to build on February 20 this year, the action of Posco is faster than Nippon Steel Sumikin’s.

Being knowing as the No.2 Posco-IJPC locating in the Indonesian Karawang whose automotive sheet annual processing capacity is 12 million tons, is expected to be completed in August this year. The manufacturers having several global automobiles near Posco-IJPC , including Toyota Motor and Honda automobile plant and the new processing center has received the orders from General Motors. No. 1 Posco-IJPC processing center owned by Pohang in Karawang was put into operation at the end of 2009 ,with the annual processing capacity of 96 million tons,and the processed sheet mainly supply to household appliances and other steel manufacturers.
