Japanese steel trade imbalance growth day by day

Japanese steel exports continue to maintain strong growth momentum, since April this year, the average monthly export volume has remained at the level of 3.6 million tons. Total exports of 26.01 million tons during January-July, the annual export volume of 44.59 million tons, marking thiree consecutive year growth and at least 10 years of peak levels,while Japan steel imports reached the lowest point since 2004.


2004-2009 year,the Japanese steel exports less than 40 million tons, the best level was only 38.13 million tons in 2008.But after 2010,exports have been maintained above 40 million tons,.


Increased exports and fell imports has lead trade imbalance of Japanese steel. In 2004-2008, the gap between exports and imports has never been more than 30 million tons, in 2005 the gap between exports and imports only 24.16 million tons. But since the beginning of 2010, exports and imports has never fallen below 30 million tons, it would reach to 37.38 million tons record levels this year, increased nearly by 55% compared with 2005.
