Vale from Brazil is in negotiations with part of the Chinese and foreign shipowners to sell its ninteen VLOC ships with 400000 DWT. Chinese sea ports prohibit this type of large vessels docked, but in this case,Vale still actively seek Chinese buyers.

 

    Vale's Business Development Director Feria said in an interview in Beijing recently, the company is in negotiations with more than a Chinese shipowners, but the final signing of the contract need some time. He refused to disclose the name of the Chinese buyers, and said they have signed a confidentiality agreement.

 

    Now 12 Vale VLOC ships are under construction in the RSHI shipyard. Seven other VLOC ships of the same size, built in South Korea's Daewoo shipyards. Feria pointed out that these 19 VLOC ships expected deliver at the end of 2013. He said, maybe at that time these ships have been sold already.
