In boiler building industry,the most common used materials are from ASTM A 516/A 516M and A 515/A 515M steel specifications.

A515/A515M Standard specification for pressure vessel plates,carbon steel,for intermediate-and-higher-temperature services.This specification contains three boiler steel grades as A515 grade 70,A515 grade 65 and A515 grade 60.

A516/A516M Standard specification for pressure vessel plates,carbon steel,for moderate and low temperature service.This specification contains four boiler steel grades as A516 grade 70,A516 grade 65,A516 garde 60 and A516 grade 55.

When rolling these boiler steel plates (A516gr70/65/60/55,A515gr70/65/60),general requirements shall be conform to ASTM A 20/A 20M,Ultrasonic examination shall be conform to ASTM A435/A435M,A578/A578M or A577/A577M.
